Fanny Packs...

My mom has had a hatred for fanny packs for...as long as I can remember! Well now she has one :). She has to "carry" her Chemo for 24 hours in a pouch, yuck.

CHEMO is a bad word!

Well, Chemo was last Tuesday, Wednesday and a little of Thursday. Tuesday she was feeling GREAT, Wednesday a little annoyed to return again and by Thursday was very tired!

TGFI

San Diego State sent an IT man over and hooked a woman up! Mom is able to view the Green event she worked so hard to put together. http://www.ces.sdsu.edu/Pages/Engine.aspx?id=838
Mom also has sccess to her email downstairs, oh yeah! Just don't drive her crazy with tons of emails...she is still resting and needs naps.

Wednesday

Gretchen took the night sleep and since there is only one guest room and the couch is the infirmary I got the night off! Woo!

Mom slept in a little (til 7am). And realized that I was right about easing into foods. Food Monday night and Tuesday (note: I was not there) upset her tummy, digestive track a little. So... apple sauce it is!
Gloria will be bringing by her chicken mini orzo pasta soup (it has an Italian name, but I don't know it) later tonight.

We have a doctors appointment at 4:40pm with Dr. Rajgopal! We started a list of questions to ask so that we don't forget anything:
*when can mom go up down, up down the stairs? (she can only go down in the morning and up at night)
*Is Physical therapy needed and who refers us?
*Can we get a handicap placard?

Tuesday

Well, I got the night off! Yippee! I went home and cleaned my house. Yahoo!

Aunt Wendy came over yesterday at around 10am and took over for me. She is a GREAT nurse! The nurse, Karen came and took off moms bandages at about 4pm. A little painful, but neccesasy. It will be good to get a little air around the stitches. :).

Wendy made Wendy (ha ha that always sounds funny!) some chicken for the first time! Yeah (inside I am really thinking eewww as I am a vegetarian). It was like baby food cut up very tiny with a small side of mashed potatoes and tiny tiny very soft carrots. Mom is eating small meals so this meal was mini. Her tummy is trying to catch up.

Auntie Gretchen will be down at 11ish today and will be staying over. I will join the ladies for a lunch and check up with mom and give Lucy a little loving. Lucy can tell some thing thing is different because mom won't move from "her" area on the couch. She has been very careful around mom too. When we went down the stairs she walked step by step with us until I scooted her along.
